About Us

The Ogdenville Morning Gazette was founded in 1928 by Foster Lane in an attempt to put Ogdenville on the map. The first issue was published on March 18, 1928 and featured a cover story on the grand opening of the Ogdenville Train Station.

The Great Depression hit and circulation decreased; the Ogdenville Morning Gazette struggled to hold on.

In 1932, there was an influx of new residents to the city when a visit from our galactic neighbours utterly decimated the neighbouring town of South Haverbrook, resulting in a new residential area. Circulation was back to its previous high, and has steadily increased ever since.

Foster Lane passed away in October 1940, leaving the company to his nephew, Charlie Lane, who then lost the company to Clive Grubbs in a poker game. Clive’s son, Frankie Grubbs, inherited the company in 1984, and is the current president of Ogdenville Morning Times Incorporated.
